Make a plan with your coach about which tasks you will perform to master the following skills:
  • critically evaluate the credibility and reliability of sources of data, information, and digital content;
  • critically evaluate data, information, and digital content.

Examples to develop these skills:
Suppose you are interested in the topic of climate change and want to learn more about its causes and effects. You start by searching for information on the internet and find various websites and articles that provide information on this topic. To evaluate the reliability of these sources, you can, for example, pay attention to:
  • The source: Who is the author or creator of the content? Do they have experience and expertise in the field of climate change? Is the source from a reliable organization or website?
  • The content: Are factual claims being made, or is it mainly opinion or speculation? Is the information supported by sources and references? Are both sides of the story being presented?
  • The date: Is the information up-to-date and still relevant? Are newer or more recent sources available?
  • Language and layout: Is the information clearly and understandably written? Are there spelling or other errors in the text? Is the layout of the website or document professional and well-crafted?
By critically examining these aspects, you can gain a better understanding of the reliability of the sources and ensure that you only use high-quality and trustworthy information.

But it doesn't end there - increase the value of your badge by adding your learning process and achievements to your badge. This allows potential employers to gain a better understanding of your digital skills.
