This activity helps you understand how gender equality impacts your daily life and the people around you.

You’ll start by reflecting on gender-related challenges in your own life and explore how these experiences connect to bigger issues of equality in your community.

First, get inspired!
Watch a short video or read a blog post about how gender roles and expectations affect young people every day.

Listen to a podcast where young people share how gender stereotypes impacted their school, work, or personal life.

Now, take action:
Through these activities, you’ll explore how gender roles and stereotypes shape everyday experiences for yourself and others. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of how gender equality can positively impact your life and the lives of those around you, empowering you to recognize and challenge gender biases in your community.
Think of your own experiences: Think about a time when gender roles, stereotypes, or expectations affected you or someone close to you. How did it impact your day-to-day life? Share your story, with groups and in spaces where you feel safe and comfortable doing this.
Talk to your peers about gender topics: Have a conversation with a friend, family member, or someone in your youth group about what gender equality means to them and how it affects their life. Ask them how gender roles impact them and summarise the key points of your conversation.
Lead the group discussion on gender topics: Bring together friends, classmates, or youth group members to have a discussion about gender equality. Pick a theme, guide the conversation, and encourage everyone to share their thoughts. Summarise the discussion and share your key insights in a short reflection or as an audio/video recap.
